Wilhelm Möhlmann sen. takes up producing footwear in Fischbeck, a village in northern Germany.

1945
MÖFI – the new brand name - expands its range of products: slippers are now part of the collection.

1955
The collection in expanded: slip-ons are now produced – trade name ‘redskin’.

1970
Möhlmann jun. joins the firm and becomes sole manager.

1973
Now MARC is the trade name for fashionable casual men’s footwear.

1975
Because of the great demand for MARC footwear production has to be increased by outsourcing to Italy.

1978
MARC develops a unique type of casual footwear (‘California’). Using an innovative technique MARC is able to offer shoes that are absolutely comfortable.

1980
MARC is one of the first western firms to start joint ventures with firms in the east pointing the way to the future by starting a partnership in Hungary.

1985
MARC optimises its international presence by founding more branches in several countries.

1993
MARC successfully concludes licence agreements with a number of well-known firms: Hugo Boss, Mexx, s.Oliver, Marc O´Polo.

2003
MARC concentrates on relaunching its brand and increasing its soft walk concept.

2004
Outsourcing of production from Europe to the Far East expanded.

2006
First shop-in shops and soft-shops.

2007
Opening first mono-brand-shops.

2010
Expanding MARC as a brand all over the world.

2011
Change in ownership at MARC Shoes: The proprietor and founder of MARC Shoes Wilhelm Möhlmann passed the business to Thomas Bauerfeind, proprietor of the Berkemann group in Zeulenroda, Germany.
